FALL 2010 PRAYER LETTER

PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Terri’s father, Paul Chapman, whom she has been praying for to get saved for over 30 years, just got saved on November 17th. He is fighting cancer and his prognosis is not good. He lives in the Philippines, but would like to come back to the states before he dies. Terri and I are praying that if it is the Lord’s will, she would get to see him before he goes home to be with the Lord. He is physically weak so the trip would be hard to make, but please pray that she might get to see him before he goes home.

No Brakes


We were at the top of a southern Pennsylvania mountain pass. Being that I am from California I know what real mountains are, yet this pass, though not too high and not too steep, was still a place of consternation. Why? Well, because the brakes were gone on my trailer, again! I figured I could take it slow down the long grade, which I did. But then, with sweaty palms from the two hours down the hill, I exited the highway and started the hilly secondary road. Going slowly, and in 5:00 P.M. traffic, I crept over a small but fairly steep hill, and coming down the other side there was a stop light and cars backing up. I applied the brakes, knowing only the truck brakes were working, and our 18,000 lb. RV kept pushing us closer to the stopped cars ahead. Pushing harder and then harder on the brake pedal meant nothing, for we have anti-lock brakes. A few feet in front of the stopped car ahead we finally stopped. Sweaty, weary and yet wired from adrenaline we pulled over into a parking lot and thanked God for mercy.
Finally arriving at Crisswell Bible Baptist Church we had a great time. God used them, and especially Pastor DeBacco to fix the trailer. I did have to claim Romans 8:28, for this was October 2010. The problem with the brakes had to do with a bad master cylinder on the RV. The master cylinder was under warranty until August of 2010. Just two months earlier and it would have been covered. So, instead we paid just over $600.00 for the new designed master cylinder.
While there I was able to do something that I have not done for many years. It is a small thing, and for some of you it will seem like nothing, but to Terri and I it was a great blessing. We had the enjoyable time of sitting around a campfire until late at night. The briskly cold air nipped at out ears, yet the great warmth of the blazing fire with its dancing golden beams of light created in us a relaxing comfort that enabled us to rest, unwind, and ponder the beauties of our great Creators handiwork in the Heavens. Not only this, but it stirred us to have the sober meditation of the horrors of the flames of Hell as we stared at the bright red, orange and white glowing and flaming coals of the fire. My lips moved, though no sound was heard, as I spoke a prayerful word, “thank you dear Lord for saving me and keeping me from the fires of Hell.”

Souls Saved

People have been saved in the meetings; about eight since my last letter, but I had not personally lead them to the Lord. The Bible says that, one man sows and another reaps, but it troubles me when it has been a while and I have not personally lead someone to the Lord.
Terri and I went with a church to a nursing home for a Thursday evening service. I played my guitar, and didn’t forget the words, praise the Lord. (Sunday Morning I had played and sang a special and forgot the words to the song.) Then pastor “Cutty” preached and in the invitation an elderly man wanted to get saved, so I talked to him and made sure he understood. He did, and I had the privilege to lead him to the Lord. Praise the Lord I am taking another soul soul with me to Heaven!
Another time we were eating at a food court in a mall and Terri went up to the Burger King counter to order a meal. Behind the counter a girl in her early 20’s was working and stopped to help Terri. Terri then looking at her placed her hands over the young girls hands on the counter, looked her in the eyes and asked, “Are you saved?” The girl replied simply, “No!” Terri then asked, “Do you know what saved means?” The girl, gentle yet bitterly replied, “Yes, my father took us to church all the time; he was a preacher. Yes I know what saved means.” Terri then with compassion looked her in the eyes, “Do you realize where you are going if you don’t get saved?” The girl looked down and said thoughtfully, “Yes, I know.” Terri then kept on her and said, “It’s not worth waiting. You are gambling with eternity. Please read this.” And she gave her a This was Your Life Chick tract.
Praise the Lord we had a young man 18 years old called to preach in a meeting on Sunday morning in Wisconsin. He went home and cleaned off his computer and is determined to live for the Lord. God still works, and God is still calling men to preach. Will you?
We had the joy of spending some time with Rebekah in Cincinnati. She came and stayed with us in the trailer for a few days. It was a blessing to have her around, and she even got to sleep in her own bed with Katie just like she used to do. Katie sure loved it too.

Latest book “Defiled” is now available

My latest book titled ‘Defiled’ is now available, through me directly, through Amazon.com, or our web site www.kenmcdonaldfamily.com. Defiled is available as a regular paperback book (290 pages) or as an ebook.
It has been quite a project that has taken about a year and a half to complete. As I have mentioned before in my letters, I put scheduling meetings on hold until this project was completed, and praise the Lord it is now complete so I will get back to the task of scheduling meetings.

Today is to be an exciting day for me as, Lord willing, I will get to see the first copy of my book, “Defiled.” The book was sent out on Wednesday and should be waiting for us in Kentucky. If it is “right” then I will approve it and it should soon be available on Amazon.com. It will also be available as a Kindle e-book.

Just a quick note since it has been a month since I updated this page.

For the past two weeks we have been in Western PA in hills and there is no cell phone or data service with Sprint so we have been a bit crippled in our communications. Nevertheless we have had a good time with a man getting saved last evening at the nursing home. Pastor “Cutty” has replaced the master cylinder on our RV since we came in here with no brakes and almost ran into the back of a car. We were coming slowly down a hill in traffic and I was almost standing on the brakes which means nothing when you have anti-lock brakes.

My book, “Defiled” is in its last stage which means they have sent it to the print on demand division and is close to being ready, Praise the Lord! I am praying for it to be “right” most of all, but am praying for it to be ready next week. They will send me a copy for the final OK and then it will be ready if I approve it. When it is ready it will be available online on Amazon.com, or from me, though I will need to have some on hand. Online will be your best way to go.

Lord willing, we will get to see Rebekah next week in Cincinnati.

I hope to have a prayer letter out in the next few weeks as well.

For now I’ve got to go and help “Cutty” with my brakes.

As you can see from the calendar my schedule is sparse right now. When the Lord made it plain to write my latest book I stopped all other works and centered on writing and finishing the book. Now that it is at the publishers I am getting back to the tasks of evangelism, one of which is scheduling meetings. Terri and I look forward to seeing friends, ministering in the churches and serving our Lord Jesus Christ in the months ahead. God has been so good to us, as always, for souls have been saved in the meetings, and the Lord has touched hearts of the saints as well. Terri had the joy of leading a young boy to the Lord last week, and I had the opportunity to witness to his mother. She listened well but did not get saved.

Just checked the calendar and I’m not sure if it is up and running yet.

We are presently in Auburn, MA, and I start a meeting tonight. My voice is doing well and in spite of my lack of working it, continues to progress. Terri is doing well and we are in good health.

JUNE 2010 PRAYER LETTER

It seemed strange and unwise to me to schedule a meeting 2000 miles away but after prayer it seemed like the Lord's will, so I did. We traveled from San Diego, CA to Knoxville, TN for a meeting, and the meeting went very well, praise the Lord. Though no one was saved, yet we have had testimonies from people that were there and they have said that the meeting was one of the best they had ever had.

From there we traveled down to Seminole, AL and for over four weeks I worked on my next book which is about the spiritual dangers of alternative medicine. The time was well spent for I made great progress on the book, to the point that I was able to get the first draft finished. That was almost a month ago though and I have not been able to work on it since. I am finding that I am a one project person and if I am in a meeting I am not able to write. I do not believe I am giving my best in a meeting if I am concentrating on writing. Others may, but I can not.

Having written that, I am now in Iowa, as my meeting in Washington cancelled do to the poor economy. That has given me a few weeks off again, for which I am excited to possibly complete the book. I will be so glad when it is done.

This week I am scheduled to be on a radio program with Brad Brandon. He is nick named the "Rush Limbaugh" of Christian radio. He wants to do a 30 minute segment on the dangers of alternative medicine, and the infiltration of Eastern Mysticism into the churches. Please pray all will go well.

For those of you who have helped, and for those of you who have prayed I want to let you know that I was able to purchase the Chinese book called The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine. This book is the “King James Bible” of Chinese medicine. The Yellow Emperor is attributed with organizing Chinese medicine.

We have done much driving over the past months as we have driven back and forth across the USA. As such we have gone through much fuel and expense. While on the way to Yuma, AZ from Alabama my brakes went out in Benson, AZ and we limped into Phoenix with no trailer brakes. The brake shoe on the right rear axle had slipped and ground into the rotor. Brake fluid had leaked out and I had no brakes. It was the Lord's mercy that it did not catch on fire.

Being that we were getting ready to turn off Interstate 10 onto Interstate 8 towards Yuma, I decided that we had better head for Phoenix, as parts are more likely to be found there. We pulled into True Vine Baptist Church and they were a great, great blessing to us. When it was all said and done they had fixed the brakes and paid for most of the parts. I pray the Lord will bless them for it.

A month or so earlier we had been at True Vine and had the opportunity to go out street preaching with them in Tempe, AZ. It was a joy to me to talk to people on the street and a couple I was able to pray with. They claimed to be saved, and I believe they were after asking a lot of questions. One young man was named Demetrius and he claimed to be to wicked to be saved. I told him that the blood of Jesus Christ was able to cleanse away all of his sins. He then opened up more and said that he was backslidden and had been born again while going to a youth group in a church. He told me that he was tired of sin and wanted to get back with the Lord, and that he use to read the King James Bible. I encouraged him and he then asked me to pray with him which I did.

Another tall strong young black man stopped as I gave him a track. He said that he was not saved but did not know what was the truth anymore. He had been worked on by the Moslems and told me that there are over 1000 that go to prayer right outside of ASU. I then stressed that Jesus Christ arose from the dead proving that He was and is God. I repeated that over and over in my conversation with him. I wanted him to hear it in his mind every time the Moslems came around. He then told me that his Mom and Grandma were Baptists. After a little more conversation I told him, "you need to listen to your Mama!" This seemed to sink into his heart, and after prayer he left with much on his mind.

While standing there on the corner, as usual, I wanted to preach but didn't want to strain my voice. Just as I was getting ready to start Pastor Ware said that it was time to go. I was a bit disappointed, but left not having preached on the street.

A few weeks later we were in Tennessee preaching on the streets, and this time I did not wait. I opened my mouth and preached. What a joy it was! I did not preach long, but I did preach on the street for which I was thankful. My voice was OK afterwards as well, praise the Lord!

While on the subject of my voice, I have even sung a few times in the churches. This is something that five years ago I did not know if I would ever do again. Five years ago in June I came off the road having lost my voice due to preaching and abusing it. Whether I would preach again was uncertain, but the thought of singing was not even considered. God has been so good to me!

I received an email the other day from a preacher in the Philippines. He told me that he had been given my book, Here Comes the Bride at a preachers meeting. After reading it he realized that the church he had been affiliated with was a Brider church and now he was free. He preaches to the military and police, as well as has a church. His name is Gem Hidalgo.

Terri has spoken to ladies in various churches over the past months and it has gone very well. I keep telling her that we will have it made if she will write a book or two. She is always a great blessing and help to me. God has given me a wonderful wife.

Last of all, we are praying about and preparing to downsize our rig. With Rebekah gone we do not need a two bedroom unit. Not only that, but with Obama and the Dem's running things, it could get much worse before it gets better. First of all though, after prayer, the Lord has shown us that we should downsize. Please pray the Lord would make it very plain what we should downsize to. The most important aspect of it all is His will. All we desire is His will.

The past few months have been busy but good. The Lord has blessed us in many ways and protected us from harm. There are battles raging and if any of you should desire, we are always open to answering questions. Our desire is to please our Lord Jesus Christ first of all, as well as to be a help and a blessing to others. It is a great privilege to serve the King of the universe, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ps. Have done the radio show and he went one hour with me. Seems it went very well, praise the LORD!

Also have just received a request to come to the Philippines to teach Bible for Pastor Gem Hidalgo. Please pray for this that the Lord will would be done, and if it is His will then for the finances to come in for both Terri and I to go.

Just finished a meeting in Knoxville, TN, at Antioch Baptist Church and it went very well. As a matter of fact it was one of the best meetings I have ever had. Over 400 DVD’s Were burnt as well as New Age junk and CD’s. We just arrived in Seminole, AL and will be here for some weeks while I seek to finish my book on the New Age medicine. I am looking forward to, by the grace of God, working on this book.

Terri is doing well and is also looking forward to getting much office work done.

God has been, as always, so good to us and it is a joy to be in the service of the King of Kings.

Praise the Lord it worked! I was able to upload this old news blog page.

We are presently in Phoenix, AZ and will be leaving for El Cajon on Saturday for a meeting with Pastor Joshua Stephenson. This week has been open, so I have been able to make some good progress on the book on New Age Medicine. I still have a long way to go, but the first semblance of a rough draft is before me now.

I have started getting some fall out because of my position that New Age medicine is, or contains methods of, witchcraft in its practices. For example, muscle testing, which is really body dowsing, an occult practice of divination. The modern term is Applied Kinesiology and I have obtained through research, information that links it with the pendulum and Ouija Board, both methods of divination. Muscle testing is commonly used in churches all over the country. Did you know that witchcraft is a work of the flesh? (Gal. 5)

For those of you who have given towards the acupuncture book called “The Yellow Emperors Book of Internal Medicine, I now have it. Thank you for your help to get this book. I received it two days ago. It is an amazing book as it is pure Shem, and pure Taoism from 5000 years ago. It is amazing to read and get a glimpse into the oriental mind, and yet see the darkness that they have been in for so many millenia.

As far as the meetings, they have been going very well with the altars visited often, and many times full. My voice is doing well, though I have not worked it much, please pray for me on this as I need to work it.

Terri is doing well, though her allergies have flared up out here in this desert.

Greetings from Northern Montana! Though a risk, I scheduled meetings here, and the Lord has blessed with the weather. It has been beautiful and not too cold. Right now we are in Heron, MT and this is one of the most beautiful places in the United States. We saw some big horn sheep on the way in. Yesterday we saw deer and a tree full of bald eagles. When I say a tree full, I mean that there were at least ten bald eagles sitting in a tree by the road. On the other side of the tree, not too far away is a large lake with towering snow capped mountains on the other side. The water is crystal clear and a dark blue. I hope to get some pictures and post them later. I did take some pictures in Kalispell as well, but have not got the roll of film developed yet. Yes, it is film! Digital would not have mattered anyway, for I left my sink cable in Yuma. Digital, though more convenient, is junk when it comes to pictures.

The book is progressing well, though we are out of our RV and it is very hard to write. Got in about 40 pages last week. Had to rewrite the first chapter three times before I was satisfied. Still have a long way to go.

The meetings are going very well, praise the Lord. We are looking forward to getting back into our home on wheels.

Yes, my schedule is open and I am leaving it that way for now on purpose so as to have time to work on the book. If the Lord fills in the gaps then I will preach, but for now my pursuit is on the book. It has been interesting though, as I have not been open one Sunday yet. The Lord has brought in many meetings. The Lord opened the door for me to preach for Pastor Rick DeMichele, Treasure Valley Baptist Church, as well as Pastor Nathan Bemis, Bible Baptist Church in Kalispell, MT. The gaps have been a blessing so far, or should I say, the Lord has been a blessing as always, and provided meetings for the gaps.

We thank you for your prayers and Lord willing will see you somewhere down the road, or if you are born again, we will see you in the rapture. Jesus is coming soon!

We are now in Southern California and if you have never felt the atmosphere out here then there is no way for you to understand how good it feels. There is just something about the air here. Mountains tower to 8000 feet with white capped tops from the recent snow storm. It has been six years, at least, since we have been here and it has been refreshing to be here again.

I have been working on my latest book on the New Age Medicine but have a long way to go. The Lord keeps giving me more light on the subject, and no I am not an expert, but there will be enough to show that it is not right. I have had emails telling me that I am rushing too fast and don’t know what I am talking about. Well, I will write what I do know. The main thing is to compare it with what the word of God says. That is the final authority.

The truck and trailer are doing well. We will be out of the trailer about a month coming up here as we go to Montana. Please pray for us as we are not a young as we used to be, and I am sure we will miss our own bed.

PRAYER LETTER WINTER 2009

James 4:14 ... For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. Yes, this life is just a vapour, so six months is just a blip. But that little blip means that I am way over due in getting my prayer letter out. Here is the latest from the road with the McDonalds. I thank the Lord for the souls that have been saved over the last few months. One young boy came up to me and hugged me. He said that in the invitation after one of my sermons he was not sure that he was saved and wanted to make sure, so he did. We had five saved in Maine at a youth camp, and as we left the campground, the teenage boy that lived there, who had also been one of the ones that was saved, in a new babe in the Lord innocency, yelled from his porch, “God bless you,” What a blessing to serve the Lord! A couple of weeks ago two adults walked the aisle for salvation. One was a mother, whose daughter had brought her that day, and who had been saved in my meeting last year, exactly one year earlier to the date. The next week we had a young lady get saved as well. My book, “Here Comes the Bride” has been getting into the Philippines and the pastor involved in sending them told me that one pastor, of a church of 400, apologized to his church for teaching wrong doctrine and that they were going to start teaching the right doctrine. What a joy to think of the biblical freedom those people now have from the word of God! On November 17th I celebrated my 51st birthday, and it was one of the best I have had. My brother called me from California and told me that he had been scripturally baptized was now living for the Lord Jesus Christ. What a joy it was to pray with him at the end of the phone call! Because of voice therapy it has been 5 years since we have been out west. Though a short trip was tried after one year of therapy yet my voice collapsed. Lord willing, we will be going west and we welcome the time to be at our home church. We look forward to seeing our former “stomping grounds” up in the mountains of California. I pray also that we will be able to get by and see Yosemite again, even if it is for a short time. Praise the Lord the fireplace insert is installed and working in Pastor McCaw’s house. It took me over a year, but by the grace of God the project is done. With temperatures in the low teens their house is warm. By God’s grace Pastor McCaw won’t have to fight pneumonia this year. Other blessings for the last few months were that I actually have sang some specials in church. For me it is a great blessing after wondering if I would ever preach again due to my voice. One church replaced the left A-arm on our truck. Another church put two trailer tires on our RV, which was a great help. One of the rims was cracking so it was welded as well. Terri and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary in October. The Lord Jesus Christ has blessed me with a lady much better than I deserve. She truly is a help meet to me, but best of all she is a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Last month I had our fifth-wheel RV up for sale, but after prayer and counsel from my pastor I have decided to keep going the way we are. It was out of concern for finances. We had one fuel injector go out and it cost us just over $1000.00 to have it replaced. Up to a couple months ago these were under warranty. Suddenly the reality came into my mind, “I have eight of these in this motor!” “The just shall live by faith.” Amen! Thank you for your prayers, and Lord willing, we will see you as we travel the roads of America and beyond. Please pray for:

  • A projector for presentations - LCD, 3000 lumen or above

  • The Lord has made it very plain to me that He wants me to write a book on this New Age Medicine, also known as alternative medicine. I am unable to write it properly while doing meetings. Please pray the Lord would give me wisdom with my schedule. I am considering leaving the large gaps in my schedule in order to finish this book. This medicine is merely witchcraft camouflaged (Gal. 5), and is spiritually killing churches, families, and christians where ever it is practiced.
